Summer’s Almost Over
7 09 2007Sadly, Summer is almost over, and up here in South Dakota, that means a very short Fall is next. Followed by an extremely long Winter. The end of Summer also represents the end of the Wedding season. It’s been a very busy and rewarding summer for me. I’ve had the opportunity to travel throughout SD, Iowa, and Minnesota. I still have a couple of weddings in September and a couple more in October, and then will be approaching the school dance season. I don’t know, but it seems like schools do not have dances as often as they used to. With all the talk about budget cuts, it comes as no surprise.
Anyway, I just wanted to share some photos from one of my last gigs in Tea, SD. The reception was on Aug 26th, the same night that Tone Loc was in Tea for a concert! So naturally I had to play Funky Cold Medina in honor of his presence!

Sweet man, looks like you’re taking good care of that TTM-56 (I’m babying the DJM-707), as for me, the guy I did the trade-off with never came through with his end of the bargain so basically he scammed me out of my Technics SL-1210mk2s, 20 records and Shure M44-7s. I’m in the process of getting this problem resolved, but it has been a big life lesson learned for me. I’m still in the process in looking for Pioneer CDJ-800s not the MK2s, do you know anywhere/ anyone up in Sioux Falls with some? Also, to satisfy my itch I just ordered 2 used Numark TT-1650 turntables off eBay for $50! What a deal, I can’t wait for them to come. Haha, I have to say, we basically had the same setup, I had black Technics and the TTM-56 and was about to get that Dell laptop, but I decided to go digital and get CDJs. I wish you the best of luck with your career!
Donny, I can’t tell you how much that sucks. Keep after that guy and pursue legal action if necessary. When you get those CDJ-800’s, you’ll have a sweet digital setup. I don’t really know anyone up here that has some, but we do have them at the Guitar Center. Anyway, good luck with your career as well and let me know if you ever need help with anything.
